Why Rajju and Nadi get special attention

Rajju Porutham is traditionally linked to the long-term safety and longevity of the couple, tied to which part of the body a nakshatra's "cord" is believed to correspond to. A mismatch here is traditionally viewed seriously by many families and astrologers.

Nadi Porutham is traditionally associated with health and children: each nakshatra belongs to one of three Nadi groups (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), and a same-Nadi match is traditionally discouraged.
